Lord Ryder Appointed as Chairman of The Institute

The Institute of Cancer Research is delighted to announce the appointment of Lord Ryder of Wensum as its new Chairman. Lord Ryder succeeds Lord Faringdon who stepped down at the end of September after 25 years' association with The Institute.

 

Prior to joining The Institute Lord Ryder was MP for Mid-Norfolk between 1983 and 1997. He held several ministerial positions including Economic Secretary to HM Treasury and Government Chief Whip. He was also Chairman of Eastern Counties Radio, Vice Chairman of the BBC and is a crossbencher in the House of Lords.
