Will for free

Will for Free is an exciting collaboration between participating solicitors and the ICR allowing you to make a professionally-written Will free of charge and helping us raise vital funds for our world-leading cancer research.

Whether you are a supporter looking to create a Will, or a solicitor, have a look at the FAQs on the links below. You can then search for your nearest solicitor to help write your will using the map below. To use the map, enter your postcode into the search field.

Terms and Conditions

  • You or your partner must be over 60 in order for you to qualify for the Will For Free programme.
  • The ICR will cover the cost of a standard single or mirror Will up to a maximum agreed limit (£110 plus VAT for a single Will and £180 plus VAT for a mirror Will). You should clarify these costs with your solicitor on your first visit as you may have to pay for any costs that exceed this limit.
  • In order for the ICR to cover the cost of your Will you must complete, sign and date a ‘Will For Free Participant Information Form’ (included on the Will For Free information leaflet) which your solicitor will return to us on completion of your Will along with the invoice for the costs incurred, which you also need to sign and date.

The ICR is not registered with the Charity Commission because we are a college of the University of London, and this is standard for long-standing universities and museums. Our exempt reference number is X90004.
