Cell culture facility

The cell culture facility supplies the Division of Structural Biology at The Institute of Cancer Research, with a means of expressing recombinant proteins in a eukaryotic cell environment.

Incubating cell culture (Jan Chlebik for the ICR, 2011)

The baculovirus (BV) expression service routinely prepares viruses from recombinant Bac-to-Bac® plasmids, and users can book the expression of recombinant proteins in BV infected cells.

The services of the BV group are only available to members of the Division of Structural Biology. Requests for BV expression from outside the ICR can unfortunately not be considered. This page is intended only as an information resource to the baculovirus community.

For more information, please contact the facility manager, Dr Valerie Good.
