You must email the Team Leader or designated contact for the team in which you would like to undertake a project directly. You should not telephone and please do not contact the Team Leader if an alternative person is specified.

Please send your CV (include your year of study and whether you have had a summer placement before) and a brief summary of why you would like to undertake a project in their team.

Full list of teams interested in hosting a student

If a Team Leader is willing to host you for a summer vacation project, they will submit an application for scholarship funding on your behalf. In addition to applying for funding from the ICR, the researcher may apply to external funding sources. You will need to be involved in any applications submitted on your behalf.

Students are asked to contact listed ICR researchers by 26 February 2020.

However it is advised to contact them well in advance of this date because some projects might be taken off the website once a suitable candidate has been found.

The deadline for submission of applications to the ICR by supervisors is 20 March 2020.

Scholarship funding will be allocated through a competitive selection process, and applications that are successful will be announced in early May.

Demand for these scholarships will be high so we cannot guarantee that Team Leaders/designated contacts will be able to respond to all enquiries they receive. If you have not been contacted by 20 March 2020 please assume that your application was not successful this time.
