Professor Johann de Bono, Drug Development Unit

Clinical Fellow Training programme

The DDU is committed to developing the next generation of researchers in anticancer drug development. Our Clinical Fellow positions are suitable for oncology trainees wishing to gain experience in drug development. These posts offer experience and training in the whole novel anti-cancer drug development process. Our fellows are involved in collaborating with our industry partners, attending clinical trial teleconferences, making dose escalation decisions, correlating clinical and laboratory findings, while gaining cutting-edge experience of new anticancer drug strategies, as well as pursuing postgraduate degrees.

A number of our past fellows are now leading Phase I units all around the world, read some of their testimonials.

Student Placement programme

We also have several student placement opportunities in our rapidly expanding leading clinical trials units, such as DDU and PCTTG, based within our partner hospital The Royal Marsden.

Our  placement positions are designed to develop a trainee’s skills in clinical trial management. The experience will support candidates to choose careers in clinical trial related areas, provide potential employment opportunities within the ICR and The Royal Marsden, an excellent prospect to work within a world class organisation. The placement positions are available for graduates or sandwich students, who can provide a 12-month commitment.

Our annual application process starts in January. The placement starts in June or July for  12 months. If you are interested and want to find out more, please contact Lydia Turner.
