Beth is a Scientific Programme Manager at the Institute of Cancer Research, within Prof Clare Turnbull’s team in the Division of Genetics and Epidemiology. She also has an honorary contract within the Cancer Genetics Unit at the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust and the Wolfson Institute of Population Health at Queen Mary University of London (Prof Ranjit Manchanda).

Beth started within the team as a Programme Manger on the 5-year, CRUK-funded catalyst award, CanGene-CanVar, aiming to generate and collate better evidence on cancer susceptibility risk and management, and translating this into routine clinical care. Since she started in 2019, Beth has also completed a part-time PhD focussed on the CRUK-funded BRCA-DIRECT study. The study (2020 to 2023) aimed to evaluate the feasibility and acceptability of a novel, digital pathway, integrated into NHS breast oncology clinics, to enable expansion of germline genetic testing.

Beth is now leading on the delivery and evaluation of two transformational programmes funded by NHS England Cancer Programme: the NHSE Retrospective Genetic Testing Programme and the NHS Jewish BRCA Testing Programme, following the successful completion of the North Thames Genomics Laboratory Hub Mainstreaming of Breast Cancer Genetics Programme (SBRI Healthcare/NHS England Cancer Programme Innovation Open Call, 2023 – 2025).
