Getting here

The Chester Beatty Laboratories are on Fulham Road, roughly a 5 minute walk from South Kensington Underground station. Our Corporate Headquarters on Old Brompton Road are a 5 minute walk from both South Kensington and Gloucester Road Underground stations. Both stations are served by the Circle, District and Piccadilly Lines. Buses 14, 49, 211, 345 and 414 serve the Fulham Road. For more information use the Transport for London Journey Planner.

We have no on-site car parking and parking in the immediate area is for residents only, therefore visitors are advised to use public transport. There are a limited number of on-street Pay and Display and disabled parking spaces in the area. More information is provided by the local authority.

Cycle parking is available outside both sites and Barclays Cycle Hire docks can be found immediately outside 123 Old Brompton Road and on Sumner Place opposite The Royal Marsden hospital on Fulham Road.

Disabled Access

The ICR’s offices and teaching suite at 123 Old Brompton Road are accessible via steps from street level, but an access lift is in place for people with mobility issues. Please call the main switchboard in advance of your visit to arrange access.

Getting here

Our site is one mile from Sutton station, served by the Thameslink line and by Southern Trains from London Bridge and London Victoria. There are bus stops and a taxi rank outside the station, with buses 80, 280, and 420 serving the ICR. Belmont station, on the London Victoria to Epsom Downs line, is approximately a quarter of a mile from the ICR. Transport for London can help plan your journey.

Our site is 10 miles north of junction 8 of the M25 motorway. Visitors arriving by car are requested to report to the reception in the Brookes Lawley Building on arrival to obtain a temporary car pass. Passes can be issued in advance and some visitors with mobility impairments may find it helpful to request a temporary car pass in advance through the person hosting their visit to the ICR. Cycle parking can be found adjacent to the ICR stores outside the Brookes Lawley Building lower-ground floor.
