Introduction

This privacy notice applies to information we hold about members of the Board of Trustees at The Institute of Cancer Research, London.

Collecting personal information

We collect information that is necessary for your appointment as a Trustee that you provided as part of the appointment process.

This includes personal contact details, date of birth, qualifications, diversity-monitoring information and any information regarding other appointments you have held, including directorships and charity trusteeships.

Using personal information

We will use the information only for internal administrative purposes and to comply with statutory and regulatory reporting requirements. This is necessary not only to work with you effectively as a Trustee but also to fulfil our legal obligations.

Retention of personal information  

Your personal information will be stored during your term of appointment as a Trustee and for one year subsequent to the end of your term.

Disclosure of your information to third parties 

We are required to submit anonymised information about ICR Trustees to the Higher Education Statistical Agency for statutory and statistical purposes. Further information about this data collection is available on their website.  

We are required to submit information about ICR Trustees to the Office for Students. We submit your name, contact details, month and year of birth and a list of all directorships or trusteeships held. Further information about this data collection is available on their website.  

We are required to register your appointment as a director of the ICR with Companies House. We submit your name, residential address, date of birth, nationality and occupation.
