Professor Robin Jones is Team Leader in Sarcoma Clinical Trials at The Institute of Cancer Research and Consultant Medical Oncologist at The Royal Marsden. Professor Robin Jones is a medical oncologist with a specialist interest in bone and soft issue sarcomas. He has been principle investigator on numerous phase I, II and III trials.

He completed his medical training at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, and his oncology training at The Royal Marsden. His postgraduate research degree, with Professor Dowsett at the ICR, evaluated potential predictive and prognostic factors in breast cancer patients treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy.

In January 2010 he was appointed Associate Professor and Director of the Sarcoma Program at the University of Washington and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle. He led a successful clinical and research program and continued his translational and trial-based research. The laboratory work with Dr Seth Pollack evaluated novel immunotherapeutic targets in bone and soft tissue sarcomas, and has led to a number of early-phase immunotherapeutic clinical trials.

He is Consultant Medical Oncologist and Reader at the Royal Marsden and ICR. He is currently working on a number of trials of investigational agents in sarcomas as well as laboratory-based studies with Dr Paul Huang.

He is a member of the Sarcoma Alliance for Research through Collaboration (SARC) concept review committee, European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) Sarcoma Group, the American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) soft tissue sarcoma staging panel. He has previously served on the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Educational Committee and the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) Bone Tumour Panel.
