The ICR is shocked to learn that Professor Martin Gore, former Medical Director at The Royal Marsden, has died suddenly.
Professor Gore was at the heart of The Royal Marsden's life and work in research, treatment and the training of the next generation of oncologists.
He made an enormous contribution as Medical Director for 10 years, a Trustee of The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, and as a clinician. His loss will be felt personally by his many friends and colleagues at The Royal Marsden and the ICR.
Professor Paul Workman, Chief Executive of the ICR, said: "I am shocked and saddened by this unexpected and tragic news.
"Beyond his outstanding clinical and research contributions to The Royal Marsden, Martin was a great supporter of our joint institution, and will be badly missed."
