Text to donate: Terms and conditions

Blank phone (16.9)

What you're charged and what the ICR receives

For donation texts, you will be charged the amount of the donation plus the standard text message rate specified by your network provider. The ICR receives 100% per £1 donated in this way.

The standard network charge for text messages is at your network provider's rates. If the keyword or short code you text are incorrect, you may still be charged a message at your standard network rate. However you won't be charged by us for the donation as you won't be donating to the ICR.

There is no limit on the number of times you may make a donation via text but there is a daily limit of £30 on text donations. You will not be able to donate more by text from the same number on the same day, but you may still incur your standard network message charge if you try.

How will my donation be used

Your donation will help us continue to carry out world-leading research into cancer drug discovery and smarter, kinder treatments.

Find out more about what we do, or see a detailed breakdown of how we’ve spent our income in our annual reports.

The ICR derives its status from being part of the University of London which has a Royal Charter and falls within the purview of the Privy Council (not the Charity Commissioners). Exempt charities are precluded from also being registered charities by the Charities Act 1993 and these do not have a registered number.

The ICR’s Exempt Reference number is: x90004.

How to unsubscribe from future marketing

If you have opted in to receiving future communications from the ICR, we may contact you about our work and donating on the mobile you used to donate, and for some campaigns soon after you donate we may try to contact you to ask for Gift Aid.

We want to ensure we communicate with you in line with your preferences. To opt out of future marketing contact, please either text NOINFO to 70140 within an hour of sending your text message (this will be charged at your network's standard message rate).

After this, please contact our Supporter Care team on 020 153 5387 or email [email protected]. In addition you will be offered an option to opt out during each future marketing contact.
