Mechanical workshop 

The ICR/Royal Masden joint Mechanical WorkshopThe joint mechanical workshop provides engineering design and manufacture support across The Institute of Cancer Research and The Royal Marsden.

Workshop staff have access to modern, computer-aided design tools such as Autodesk Inventor Professional, an XYZ Computer Numerical Controlled milling machine and an Objet Eden 350 rapid prototyping machine.

The mechanical workshop is fully equipped with many conventional machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, circular, band and cutting-off saws, an engraving machine and equipment for working sheet metal, such as a guillotine and a bender.

There is also an integrated welding shop, which contains various welding machines as well as a sand blaster, polisher, grinder and muffle furnace.
