The research in the Cancer Research UK Cancer Therapeutics Unit focuses on four thematic areas, which include:
- non-oncogene addiction,
- genomic instability,
- tumour-host interaction,
- and resistance pathways.
Professor Chopra has oversight of these areas and his personal research is based on developing agents that target difficult to proteins such as c-Myc and BCL-9.
In addition, his team is developing preclinical 3-D cell culture models that more closely reflect the in-vivo situation. The team is also developing small molecular modulators of immune function to alter antigen presentation.
