The research in the Cancer Research UK Cancer Therapeutics Unit focuses on four thematic areas, which include:
- non-oncogene addiction,
- genomic instability,
- tumour-host interaction,
- and resistance pathways.
As Director of the unit, Professor Chopra has oversight of these areas and his personal research is based on developing agents that target difficult to proteins such as c-Myc and BCL-9.
In addition, his team is developing preclinical 3-D cell culture models that more closely reflect the in-vivo situation. The team is also developing small molecular modulators of immune function to alter antigen presentation.
