Partners for Life
Partners for Life is The Institute of Cancer Research’s regular giving scheme set up to help fund the unique and revolutionary research taking place in our cancer genomics centre, the Brookes Lawley Building.
Thanks to this top class facility, there will be a much shorter time gap between doing the initial scientific investigations at the laboratory bench, where a cancer gene can be isolated, and the eventual prescribing of treatment at the clinic. It is now possible for us to get new treatments to patients faster than ever before.
Within the next few years we expect to be able to identify those most at risk from cancer and offer more effective, individualised treatments designed to treat cancer and prevent it from returning.
This is a critical time for cancer research and you can play your part by supporting our work with a regular gift.
Your gifts will help buy vital equipment and fund researchers – enabling them to find a test for men at risk of prostate cancer, to identifying lifestyle and environmental cancer risks, and to devise less aggressive and more effective treatments for all cancers, from leukaemia to bowel cancer.
To give you an idea, this is how you can help us over 12 months:
- £5 a month will buy the statistics package we need to analyse research results
- £25 a month is enough to buy a laboratory refrigerator to store tumour samples that are vital to our research
- £100 a month will help us assess the performance of one new drug against deadly tumour cells
