Christopher's Smile fund new ICR scientist

Christopher's Smile have funded the appointment of a researcher dedicated to paediatric cancers, enabling children participating in clinical trials to receive more targeted treatment. Their donations will also enable us to acquire a specialised microscope to aid this research.


Carols from Chelsea

The ICR's tenth Carols from Chelsea took place on Tuesday 4 December. The event has already raised over £100,000 this year.


Discovery Club launches at the Science Museum

Senior scientists and some of our most generous supporters came together to celebrate the launch of a new fundraising initiative — the Discovery Club.

Charles Robson in a team of 8 – so far they have raised £18k.


Centre for Cancer Imaging campaign launches with £2m pledge

We are extremely grateful to the Wolfson Foundation – renowned for its generous support for excellence in research - for kick-starting our £10m campaign with an award of up to £2m. 

The six-storey building will house 130 researchers and an array of the most advanced imaging equipment to help us look inside a cancer and more completely understand how it works and how it is responding to potential treatments.

Special Events

The ICR hosted a successful autumn programme of special events, including the Ladies Breakfast and Shopping Event at Harvey Nichols and the Launch of the Discovery Club at the Science Museum.  

The ICR's annual Carols from Chelsea took place on 4 December, and has raised over £100,000.

Supporter thanks

  • Christopher's Smile have generously contributed £157,000 to fund a researcher dedicated to work on paediatric cancers
  • Lee Rickards has successfully completed the impressive feat of running 12 marathons in 12 months, raising a much-appreciated £3,000
  • Well done to Ed, David, Chris, Simon, Jack, Tim and Joe from Inkberrow for reaching the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, raising £8,500
