We are delighted that ASDA has again chosen ICR as one of its charities of the year, having raised over £660,000 for our Everyman appeal last year.
ASDA staff have been raising funds through a huge array of activities including balloon releases, bike rides and Father’s day events.
On top of this, the Asda Foundation has also generously donated of £180,000 to fund the purchase and running costs of two key items of equipment that will greatly aid and accelerate the work of scientists at the ICR:
- an Automated Tissue Microarray Machine (a high-throughput, cost-effective and rapid method for testing or analysing tissue specimens)
- an advanced, automated microscope which can scan and classify hundreds of cells in minutes, including fast detection of rare cells.
