Current projects include the following:
- Murine in vivo models for TEL-AML1-driven leukaemogenesis
- Exploitation of an in vitro system for inducible TEL-AML1 expression
- Developing human cell (foetal and neonatal) ‘model’ systems for transfection by fusion genes
- A screen for genetic susceptibility alleles in immune response/cytokine genes (with Professor Gareth Morgan’s team)
- Detection of fusion genes in ‘normal’ cord blood
- Analysis of pre-leukaemic (ALL) conditions
- Continued investigation of twin pairs with leukaemia
