Dr Louis Chesler
Research Interests
Dr Chesler is Team Leader of the Neuroblastoma Drug Development Team in the Section of Paediatric Oncology. His team has several key objectives, including:
- Understand the role of the MYCN oncogene in neuroblastoma, and in other childhood solid tumors in which aberrations of MYCN expression occur (medulloblastoma, rhabdomyosarcoma)
- Develop novel onco-therapeutics targeting MYCN and its oncoprotein
- Develop refined preclinical platforms for efficient development of novel therapeutics for neuroblastoma
- Develop and functionally validate optical imaging modalities for use as surrogate markers of tumour progression
