POUT

Disease site: Urological

Treatment Modality: Chemotherapy

Status: In set-up

POUT is a phase III trial investigating the optimum treatment strategy following nephro-ureterectomy for muscle invasive upper urinary tract transitional cell carcinoma.

Participants will be randomised between immediate platinum based combination chemotherapy and a surveillance strategy with treatment for further disease if it returns.

The primary objective is to to determine whether adjuvant combination chemotherapy improves disease-free survival for patients with resected histologically confirmed muscle invasive or node positive upper tract TCC.

The target number of participants is 345 over 5 years of recruitment.
