Working in Sutton
Inside the Brookes Lawley Building, Sutton
Sutton is situated to the south of London and is both within half an hour's travel of Central London and close to the beautiful countryside of the North Downs.
There are good transport links with frequent buses and Belmont and Sutton stations close by. There is free car parking for staff and cycle racks are provided.
The Sutton site has a number of purpose built buildings and laboratories including: the Haddow Laboratories, which house the Cancer Research UK Centre for Cancer Therapeutics; the Male Urological Cancer Research Centre which is the UK's first male cancer research centre; the Brookes Lawley Building opened by HRH Princess Anne in 2003 which integrates the ICR research groups working on all aspects of the genetic basis of cancer and the Genetic Epidemiology Building which provides state-of-the art accommodation for our sections of Epidemiology and Clinical Trials.
The ICR buildings are on the same site as the Royal Marsden Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, and together we form the UK's leading comprehensive cancer centre.
The Sutton site has a number of excellent facilities including: a gym which is free to all staff; an extensive research library; a sports and social club which has an indoor swimming pool, bar, squash court, tennis courts and large sports hall in which a wide variety of activities are held. Membership of the club is free to all staff (there is a small charge for some activities and the pool). A staff restaurant offers hot and cold foods, snacks and beverages.
There is an on site crèche, subject to availability, and a play scheme which operates during the summer and Easter school holidays.
