ICR Staff on a Training Course

The Institute of Cancer Research is committed to personal development. In addition to the training and support provided within the ICR’s teams, our Training and Development team provide a variety of resources to assist individuals with personal development. These include a range of workshop courses in interpersonal skills, management development and information technology skills, as well as a number of on-line programmes that are available on the desktop via the Internet.

The ICR has an open appraisal system designed to provide staff with feedback on their skills and development needs and to encourage discussion about career aspirations. We also run half-day workshops for staff focused specifically on career development with the aim of assisting them in planning their careers whether at the ICR or elsewhere.

We have agreements with our partners, including the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, that allow ICR staff to access their training courses. The training and development site on our intranet provides access to all of these resources and many more, most of which are free to ICR staff.
