Angela Kukula
Director of Enterprise
Angela joined ICR as Director of Enterprise in March 2011. Angela has a BA in Biochemistry from Oxford University and PhD in Immunology and Genetics from the Institute of Child Health University of London. She also has an MBA specialising in technology management and an LLM in commercial law. After a post-doc position at Osaka University in Japan, Angela spent a number of years managing international collaborative R&D programmes in the Pharmaceutical industry. She then moved into University technology transfer with positions at Isis Innovation and Aston University where she was Head of IP and Commercialisation and established the Technology Transfer function.

Business Development
Paul Carnochan
Senior Business Development Manager
Paul has a BSc in Electronic Engineering Science from the University College of North Wales where he worked as a graduate student on characterising interactions between electromagnetic fields and biological systems. He spent several years working in the Physics Department within the ICR/RMH on a wide range of laboratory/clinical projects before moving into Business Development for the Enterprise Unit in 2001.

Toby Richardson
Senior Business Development Manager
Toby gained a BSc in Biochemistry and Chemistry from the University of Southampton before moving to the ICR to complete a PhD in Antivascular Gene Therapy. A subsequent post-doctorate position continued this prior to a move to work on target validation and drug discovery within the Breakthrough Breast Cancer Centre.

Jennifer Hodgson
Business Development Manager
Jenny is on Maternity Leave until April 2013, please contact another member of the enterprise team with any enquiries.
Jennifer has a masters in Physics from the University of Manchester and a professional masters in Enterprise from UMIST. Jennifer has worked for the Enterprise Unit since leaving university and as well as managing projects also manages invention income and the Rewards to Inventors Scheme.

Jonathan Beech
Business Development Manager
Jonathan gained a BSc and PhD from the University of Bristol, in Cellular and Molecular Pathology and Immunology, respectively which was followed by a research fellowship at the La Jolla Institute for Allergy and Immunology in San Diego. He returned to the UK to pursue translational collaborative research projects with industry at Imperial College London, ultimately leading to his most recent role there in biopharma business development. Jonathan holds an MSc in Science Entrepreneurship from Cass Business School.

Sue Sherry
Senior Contracts Manager
Qualified as a chartered secretary. Sue has a background in administration and management in the public health sector. In 2003 she joined the Clinical Trials and Statistics Unit at ICR where she gained experience of clinical trials management prior to transferring to the Enterprise Unit to focus on clinical trials contracts for ICR and The Royal Marsden.

Gillian Hynes
Associate Contracts Manager
Gillian has a BSc in Biochemistry from the University of Sheffield. She spent several years working in the Section of Cell and Molecular Biology at ICR on a wide range of laboratory projects prior to joining the Enterprise Unit in 2009. Gillian is mainly involved with managing The Institute's "Rewards to Inventors Scheme" and handling Material Transfer Agreements.
