Wellcome 3-Year Clinical Research Fellowships in Drug Discovery

The Wellcome Trust has funded The Institute of Cancer Research for 2 Clinical PhDs per year for 3 years beginning in Autumn 2010.
The aim of this programme is to attract applicants who have the potential to pursue a career as an academic clinician and support them as they undertake a research training programme.
The programme will cover:
- target identification
- target validation, requiring skills in cell and molecular biology
- biological structure determination
- medicinal chemistry
- mechanisms of drug action
- development of biomarkers.
The fellowships are available to applicants who have General Medical Council registration, or are eligible for GMC registration. Support includes a clinical salary for 3 years, PhD fees, research expenses, general training funds and travel costs.
