Summer Vacation Scholarships
The ICR will be offering a limited number of undergraduate vacation placements in summer 2010. Students will complete a 6-8 week research project under the supervision of a research team at one of our sites in Chelsea (London) or Sutton (Surrey).
Placements will be offered to exceptional students in the middle years (i.e. 2nd of 3, 2nd/3rd of 4) of their undergraduate degrees.
How to apply
The following Research Teams are inviting applications from undergraduates interested in summer vacation projects in their Team:

Project suited to students with a background in Chemistry.

You must e-mail directly the Team Leader or contact person of the team in which you would like to undertake a summer vacation project. You should contact them by e-mail (please do not telephone), and do not contact the Team Leader if an alternative person is specified. Send your CV (include your year of study and whether you have had a summer placement before) and a brief summary of why you would like to undertake a project in their team.
If a Team Leader is willing to host you for a summer vacation project, they will submit an application for scholarship funding on your behalf. The deadline for submission of applications by supervisors is 8th March 2010, so please make contact well
in advance of this date. Scholarship funding will be allocated through a competitive selection process, and applications that
are successful will be announced in early April.
Demand for these scholarships will be high so we cannot guarantee that Team Leaders/contact persons will be able to respond to all enquiries they receive. If you have not been contacted by 8th March 2010 please assume that your application was not successful this time.
You can also contact Dr Claire Westwood for further information.
