Application information

Eligibility

Applicants from the UK should hold (or expect to achieve) at least an upper second class honours degree in a biological, chemical, clinical or related subject. EU and overseas students should hold (or expect to achieve) an international equivalent.

The chemists will have already completed (or be expected to complete) a four-year MSc, including a 6-month research project in the final year.

The majority of the biological sciences research students already have research experience gained through a sandwich year, MRes or postgraduate work experience. This is a mandatory requirement for the Mechanism-based Drug Discovery programme.

Funding

Students will be funded for 4 years by the Wellcome Trust. The Year 1 tax-free stipend rates from 1 October 2012 will be £22,278.

Applications for studentships beginning October 2013 have now closed. Applications for Studentships beginning October 2014 will open in the Autumn 2013.
