MSc in Oncology
The ICR has established a MSc in Oncology course which is now in its fifth successful year. The course offers modular study aimed at specialist postgraduate students in the field of Clinical and Medical Oncology. The course can lead to the following qualifications;
Postgraduate Certificate in Oncology: 60 credits (1 academic year)
Postgraduate Diploma in Oncology: 120 credits (2 academic years)
MSc in Oncology: 180 credits (up to 4 academic years)
The course also delivers the curriculum needed to sit the Royal College of Radiologists’ Part One and Part Two examinations in Clinical Oncology, leading to Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) for those students who require it. We aim to extend beyond FRCR by providing a sound academic framework at Masters Level, enabling students to engage in lifelong learning in the discipline of oncology.
This course also supports many areas highlighted in the new revised curriculum for training in clinical oncology, such as the role of professional judgement assessing clinical evidence and research methods.
