Library and Information Service
The Library and Information Service supports the academic and clinical work of the Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) and the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust (The Royal Marsden). Details of our current aims and objectives may be found in our strategy for 2011–2012.
Library Catalogue
The library catalogue may be searched online, and our journal list is available to download.
Books may be renewed or requested in the following ways:
- Use the Library catalogue - Your username is the barcode on your library card; and your PIN is the last 4 digits of the barcode on your library card.
- By phone - see contact details section below.
- In person at the Library.
Electronic Journals Access
Users of the Library may access our electronic journals and databases from anywhere by following the steps below:
- Go to https://ezproxy.icr.ac.uk
- ICR staff and students should enter their network username and password in the boxes on the screen.
RMH staff and other authorised users without an ICR network account should instead enter their dedicated EZproxy username and password.

Visiting the Library
The libraries are open to visitors, and borrowing rights are granted to visitors from academic institutions that are a member of the SCONUL Access Scheme.
The libraries may be found in the Brookes Lawley Building at the Sutton campus and in the Chester Beatty Laboratories at the London campus (see directions to both campuses). The Sutton library is staffed from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. The London library is staffed from 1pm to 4pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
