Resources for health science professionals

The ICR has produced a number of interactive resources for healthcare professionals who are involved in cancer treatment.

These resources were developed with the aim of promoting and disseminating the educational, research and clinical activities of the ICR, in order to improve the treatment, care and quality of life of people with cancer.

Interactive CD-ROMs

We have produced an award-winning series of resources on the management of the symptoms of cancer, providing practical guidance for clinicians. They include videos from experts in the field and cancer patients, detailed patient case studies, and extensive information for both clinicians and patients.

Breaking Barriers
Takes a holistic overview of the management of cancer-related pain. It covers the physiological causes of pain, treatment options, and the social and organisational barriers to effective pain management.

A Breath of Fresh Air
Focuses on the management of breathlessness in lung cancer patients, detailing an intervention that was developed at the Macmillan Practice Development Unit.

Relax and Breathe
An audio CD supplementary to A Breath of Fresh Air, which was produced in collaboration with Macmillan.

Web-based training tools

RT Plan
Centres around a new tool to help improve outlining when carrying out conformal radiotherapy for prostate cancer.
