Training the next generation of scientists at the ICR
The ICR is a postgraduate college of the University of London, offering degrees and educational resources for science students, clinical trainees and health science professionals.
We offer 15-20 PhD studentships a year, providing opportunities for research students to work alongside some of the world's most distinguished scientists, at our state-of-the-art laboratories in Chelsea and Sutton.
Our partnership with The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust also makes the ICR an ideal environment for clinical trainees to gain experience within oncology. Our taught MSc in Oncology offers flexible, modular study for specialist clinical and medical oncologists. In addition, clinical trainees wishing to gain research experience will find our MD(Res) degree and laboratory-based PhD programmes to be excellent ways to make a substantial contribution to scientific understanding.
Current students have a range of support services available, with on-site and off-site access to library resources and e-learning tools to acquire new skills and knowledge. Interactive training resources are also available for health science professionals, to improve treatment, care and hence quality of life for people with cancer.
