Corporate Governance
The Institute of Cancer Research, together with The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, forms the largest comprehensive cancer centre in Europe, and one of the leading centres in the world. The ICR itself employs around 1075 staff and postgraduate students. It raised £87.4m during the year ended 31 July 2011 from research grants and voluntary income and spent some £91.1m, 95% of which was used directly for research.
The ICR is:

- An exempt charity
The ICR's objects, powers and framework of governance are set out in its Articles of Association, the current version of which was approved by the Members of the ICR in September 2011.
