Record of Achievement
Cancer research, by the very nature of the disease, is a long term and complex undertaking. The timescale for a laboratory discovery to be translated into a proven and established patient benefit has in the past been over a decade.
The ICR should therefore be judged against our long term achievements and measured achievements. Both show the ICR to have made an enormous contribution to many of the significant advances in reducing mortality for a wide range of cancers and to have had a profound impact on cancer research throughout the world.
